SEO For Small Businesses

It seems like times are always tough for small businesses, but no time is worse than during a recession. During a recession, many businesses try to cut back on as much as possible, but when does cutting back start to hurt the company? One of the places this question is most often applied is to the question of SEO. Should a small business pay for SEO when money is tight?

Unfortunately, many small businesses axe their advertising budget first. While this can be a good place to save a little bit of money, if businesses completely cut their advertising, they will not be able to attract new clients. Without new clients, there’s little they can do to make more money. While word of mouth may help somewhat, it’s not as effective as a marketing blitz.

While web marketing is cheaper than doing offline marketing, there are still costs involved. However, you may get a much higher return on your investment since you’re able to more deeply analyze how well your marketing is doing. Since websites allow users to track where their traffic comes from, it’s easier to identify and cut any online marketing that is not working. To this end, small businesses should not immediately cut their SEO budget when times get tight.

Some small businesses may not have even invested in SEO yet, and these businesses may be asking why they should spend the money. However, those small business owners may not recognize just how great a return they can get on their SEO. A huge return on investment is everything in a recession, and doing SEO is ranked as one of the top ROI solutions.

By selecting specific keywords and phrases, you’re very specifically targeting your audience. While ads in magazines may get a lot of attention, you never really know if your target audience is viewing the ad or if it is being viewed by someone who will never purchase your product. SEO, however, makes certain your website is being viewed by those who are looking for what you offer. It brings in more than just quantity; it brings in quality visitors and provides them with information about your website right away.

When it comes to dealing with SEO, small businesses have a few choices. They can either handle the SEO themselves or they can hire a professional SEO company. The first is obviously the most budget-friendly; however, if you and your employees don’t understand the basics of doing SEO, you may end up wasting your time. Fortunately, you can learn the basics of SEO fairly quickly.

Paying a company to do SEO, especially if the company is thorough and completely redesigns your website from the ground up to be fully optimized, may be out of your price range. Many small businesses simply can’t afford this. However, having an expert in SEO look at your pages can be helpful. Outsourcing only part of the SEO process can be helpful. For example, you may want to hire a professional SEO writer to create content for your website after you determine the keywords yourself.

Perfecting the Recipe for Success

Building a truly successful online business is like baking the perfect chocolate cake,
making a fluffy soufflé or creating a fantastic five-course meal.  It requires the
exact combination of tools, timing and technique plus the knowledge that comes from
trial and error over years of experience.  To do all of this on one’s own seems an
insurmountable task but even the most novice web site owner need not be discouraged.
Renowned online copywriter Michel Fortin and his wife, Internet Guru Sylvie Fortin,
have done it all — big time — and have now brought their 10-plus years of experience
working together to Success Chef, a membership program of immense value which is
especially easy to follow.  For example, unlike some other programs, Success Chef is
designed to let you work at your own pace.
This extensive program begins with the basics, then moves on to tons of insider
secrets, winning short cuts and advanced strategies proven to help you build or grow
your Internet business.  The list of topics they cover is extraordinary, including
niche viability assessment, in-demand product development, winning website creation,
targeted traffic generation, improved response and conversion rates and marketing
(advertising and selling).
Successful outsourcing is also a key element to becoming a hugely successful Internet
marketer.  As the Fortins explain, the ability to outsource is critical for novice
e-marketers who, all too often, believe that they have to do everything themselves.
The normal outcome of this trying to do it all on your own is delay or disaster.  The
Success Chef recipe box clearly outlines what tasks can be delegated and to whom.
Plus, the program makes outsourcing especially easy to do.
For example, members of this remarkable program are entitled to a variety of services,
including a support team and the One-Click Outsource Option.  They also have access to
group coaching calls and mastermind sessions, some of which feature guest appearances
by other well-respected Internet marketing experts.  Further, the Success Chef website
has special tools to help members chart their progress and a full glossary of Internet
marketing terms.
Since Success Chef is designed to be a work in progress, the Fortins are continually
adding information, new techniques and pertinent case studies.  Given that Sylvie
Fortin is a vocal critic of membership programs that don’t really supply true value,
it’s no wonder that Success Chef is so all encompassing and content-rich.

Will linking several websites to each other give me better Search Engine Optimization results?

My business has 4 separate websites. If I linked all of these sites together would I get better SEO results? If I linked every page on every site to every page on the other sites, would this help also? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yes it will as long as you don’t make them reciprocal links meaning site A linked to site B and B to A. Reciprocal links are considered by search engines as simply advertising each other. The reason why search engines value links with their ranking is because of the quality of the site. If your site has single links to a number of other sites then search engines would think that your site has valuable information and so they will put it to their top pages.

Make your websites linked 3 or 4 ways: A to B; B to C; C to D; D to A. The search engines will see these links as single links and will count them as quality links. There’s a technology that does this, it’s called 3WayLinks and I heard that it’s effective. You might want to check out this review http://3waylinks.wordpress.com/3waylinks-a-scam/

Give me Some Tips For Search Engine Optimization?

SEO is not something you can do overnight, or with a few tips and tweaks unfortunately. I think the post above is a good starter already!
The most important thing are keywords! Make sure they are in your texts, in your titles, in your headers, and if you can, in your urls.
Keywords are the words for which you want your website to be found. Think about them carefully, and, also think from the perspective of your visitors. You may think they will search for a specific keyword, for instance BMW, but they may be looking more using another keyword, say, beamer. So, it is important to incorporate those "wrong" keywords too.

How do i do Search Engine Optimization?

I want to do SEO for my blog. What shall i do?How shall i start..

Let me know all the useful tips..

I want to learn …
I love your useful tips and want more.Dont worry each will get best answer so dont give up !!
Just give your opinion.I will put this question on voting…

Do the following

1. Add informative high keyword density contnets on pages.
2. Add keywords and meta tags in the title and short description.
3. Always add articles that are relevant to your business.
4. Submit your blog to directories and other blogs.
5. Use social marketing methods for bringing traffic.
6. Answer queries at forums
7. You can provide login to visitors who want to join your weekly or monthly newsletter.
8. Offer quality information to all visitors.
9. You can use PPC programs offered by Google and Yahoo.
10. Organic listings can bring traffic by carefully choosing keywords.

What’s the best form of search engine optimization?

Does any one have any tips on this matter?

The most effective way to advertise on the Internet is
to first set up a website and publish its domain name
on major search directories such as Google.com,
Yahoo.com [at http://www.google.com/addurl/?...... and
MSN.com since 85% of Internet shoppers rely on these
search directories to provide them with goods and
services. In a sense, these search directories are a
very large Internet Yellow Pages.

Nevertheless, should your website or opening webpage
fail to contain "generic" keywords, then anyone using
such "generic" queries will not be able to discover
your website. Your domain name [URL] of your website,
in a sense, will be invisible, undiscoverable.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which,
when observed and committed in designing of a website
with placement of various critical metatags that can
surely achieve a high search engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well with published webpages
at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
take too long to load up and therefore analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other hand, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash pages which load quickly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
question, "Who’s my end user – is he on dialup or
DSL?" And if you had to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
is best for them.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text,
is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit
the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google
and Yahoo and it begins with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe in generic
terms, the goods and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
within the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually 41 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – "Keywords" are also
somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural
and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the
elimination of your website from their search
directory.

Good luck!

I really need some help with seo (search engine optimization) thanks?

I looked at tons of free advice, articles, tips online how to improve my ranks. So far i did a few link exchanges with sites similar to mine, i made sure i have the right keywords, i added informative titles and alt. tests, and i still cant find my site on google unless i search the actual domain. Thank You

SEO majority is backlink and keywords. As per you mentioned that you are using the right keywords, then you shall increase the keyword density if possible. Besides, you do link exchange, and you need to ensure your link is dofollow, else it wouldnt help much.

On the other hand, i will suggest you go for dofollow forum posting and dofollow blog commenting which is the easy way to build link and help your PR & SERP

Tips please… to optimize my website to be listed in the first page of yahoo/Google?
