Nikki McDonald: Okay now to move to the very last question. Its kind of complicated, but there could be a prize involved.
Christopher Schmitt: Okay.
McDonald: There will be a prize involved. We are asking everyone. Okay. Think about this: I want to know what is the best way readers, you know, designers can ensure, whoever is listening, can you show that the website where rank highly in Google. But in your response I need you to optimize your answer to make a search engine friendly.
And, if your podcast, right now, ranks the highest, you could win a prize to be determine later.
Schmitt: To Be Determine Later? That is a great prize!
McDonald: That’s the best contest.
Schmitt: I havent won To Be Determine Later yet, so that’s great. Something to look forward to put–
McDonald: I know.

Schmitt: I would say that who ever make the title for this podcast should be–
McDonald: Then what should be the title be?
Schmitt: Should be… Just put a lot of buzzwords CSS, Ajax, you know. Christopher talks about these things.
McDonald: Give me some best words. Come on. Spit them out.
Schmitt: Put them all in there: CSS, Ajax, PHP, Microformats–
McDonald: Microformats?
Schmitt: Yeah, we havent really talked about, but we should put that in there, too.
McDonald: Just in case.
Schmitt: Yeah, just in case. Also, put a transcript of what we are talking on the video, too, so Google can index that, too.
So, if you do that I should definitely be walking away with Prize To Be Determined Later.

Google treats 410 status codes differently from 404s. Google tests cost per lead comparison ads in mortgage and refinance industry. Google graduates similar image search. Google Maps to fix a one box mistake. Google warns that publishers should not block the AdSense certified 3rd party network. A new adCenter Desktop beta might be coming November 6th. Google Maps adds navigation GPS tool to Android 2.0 on Verizon Wireless Droid. Should Diller sell Ask.com to Microsoft or donate it to Rutgers. In my searches for a better index by Google i have found some cool tricks to get my website fast indexed. In a
matter of hours I could see significant changes in the number of pages being indexed by Google. The secret is Social Bookmarking sites.
Now what is a social Bookmarking site?
Social bookmarking sites are sites where you store your bookmarks ( or Favorites)and share them with other people. Now your wondering so what? Well… the great thing about these chind of sites is that they get indexed real fast by search engines like Google and because they provide backlinks back to your site Google checks them out as well providing better and fast indexing. But be shore you chose a high ranking social bookmarking website to get the best results. Also this is a great way to get traffic to your webpage, but well talk about that another time so stay tuned . My personal favourite Social Bookmarking websites are Stumbleupon, digg and del.icio.
STUMBLEUPON is a great site and I have had some great success with it. They have a tool bar you can install for your web browser and makes submitting your favorite sites as easy as clicking a button.

DEL.ICIO is the same but it’s a lower ranking website but offers the toolbar button as well.
DIGG is the best of all (leaving the best for last ). It’s the highest ranking social bookmarking website out there and you get great results with it, but the down side is they don’t have a tool bar to install, witch is OK but a little more work to submit your links.
All in all Social Bookmarking Sites are great for raising pagerank getting your site indexed better and bringing traffic to your webpage.
Google webmaster tools:
This is a great service provided by Google to help index your site and see how to improve your site ranking. This tool is for everyone how feels they can’t do anything to better index their site or just wants to see what Google bot is doing.
Google Webmaster Tools has some great features like what Google bot sees, adding sitemaps and other great stuff.
All in all its a great service provided by Google and could work wonders for your website, blog, forum or whatever.

Google has made changes to its blog search engine, so that if it indexes a comment on a blog, it lists the comment next to the link to the original blog post. This will give full credit to the original blog where the comment was posted, as may help cut down on comment spammers.

Iterasi is a new web tool that allows you to save, catalog, and share the content of complex websites. It allows you to save a snapshot of a dynamic website so you can go back and look at a page just as you had seen it before, even if the content changes. Much more powerful than a bookmark, this allows you to be able to view a page of Digg, for example, just as it was five days ago. And you can email the saved version to others, as well.
