Within the words used in your link (anchor text) include the most important keyword phrase for the page you are linking to, plus a call to action for the reader e.g. ‘To find out more go to…’
Article marketing works to increase website traffic because people will read your article and be motivated to find out more at your site (if you do motivate them). Page rank is also passed from the high PR article directories to your site, so increasing your position in the search engine results pages (serps) and bringing you more traffic.
