    list keywords in your meta tags, make sure you have alot of other websites link to your site, google especially tracks that … this will help you move to the top. Pay for google adwords, it’s alot easier. you appear on the left hand side as a sponsored link …

    Well, I’ll second the "paid advertising" thing: buying Google ad-words is a good place to start.

    Otherwise, the only legitimate technique, really, is to have a popular web site. Google and Yahoo use formulas designed to put sites with the most amount of interest in them (via inter-web hyperlinking, presumed visitor counts, etc.) And if you try and cheat in obvious ways, they may even de-link you.

    So get popular… or buy ad-words.
