Best way to advertise, promote or get visitors for a website?

I am a new (temporary) Webmaster – new to doing this. This just sort of got thrown my way on a temorary basis until a full-time Webmaster is hired to replace the old one.

What is the best way to promote an online dating website like www.uberdate.com? It offers traditional online dating as well as discreet relationships and intimate encounters, so it is not your typical online dating site, but it also does not allow nudity or fowl language. This kind of makes it cutting edge – filling two niches that are generally used for two separate websites – adult intimate dating and traditional relationship online dating.

Just visited your site http://www.uberdate.com quite the interesting site and should be very popular, a few tricks is to look into "google adwords" (go to google.com and under the search bar click on advertising programs) if it is within your budget and spend some time researching "keywords" , offer incentives to members to sign up other members, and more detailed info visit the link below

Register your site on Overture.com. It doesn’t hurt to pay a little for some hits… I use Overture.com and my site is usually in the top 5 of each search engine like yahoo, alta vista, msn, etc. Good luck to you. You have to register with Google separately to be at the top. That is the #1 search engine. Yahoo is #2. It pays to pay for hits…you get more hits because you’re at the top..and more hits=more customers!

There are a number of free resources available to advertise your website and increase traffic. You can advertise on relevant free classifieds ( http://www.craigslist.org) , directories (dmoz) and relevant forums. Major search engines like Yahoo, Google , MSN search are a major source of visitors for most websites and you can submit your website to these search engines for free. You can also run contests offering prizes to regular visitors. I have found the following website useful

Well i promoted my cricket online streaming website by a very new and upcoming method. The website is http://www.200webpages.co.nr . By advertising my site there, a realised i had many more people subscribing to my site. My traffic increased 3 fold!

Well the only possibe downside is that i had 2 pay for it. But i would say at $40 for a year, it is much cheaper that pay-per-click companies like google adwords.

It just a suggestion but i think for a website like yours, it will work wonders.

the best ways to advertise are pay per click, banner ads, and search engine optimization.

All 3 of them will cost you, especially if you dont know what you are doing on all 3. search engine optimization is a constant process and will take some time to show up.

If you want quick results, free online advertising is a cost effective way to boost traffic instantly. there are a lot of free online advertising sites but most are bs, or dont bring in enough traffic.

here is a link to the best completely free online advertising websites with high traffic:
